I just recently upgraded to Windows 10 which is why I was interested to read this book.Being not so techie, I was frustrated when I encountered several problems, such as: the volume cannot be adjusted and the desktop display was askew.I was almost sorry I upgraded, but decided to give Windows 10 another shot. Hence my purchase of this book.I learned thru this book that Windows 10 has some pretty cool features, such as the security upgrades. I am also starting to love Microsoft Edge, thanks to the tips provided about how to make the most of it.Chapter 5, which discusses the hidden features of Windows 10, is particularly useful.I love how everything is explained in very simple terms, which suits someone like me. Definitely recommended.

After a horrible time with Windows 8, I couldnâ€™t wait to install Windows 10. I heard much about it and read mainly positive reviews and I was positively excited. This book helped me very much, I'm not really a computer person and I don't have much patience with it, but I'm working on it. Everything is laid out in a very simple and concise way, you can easily set up your Windows 10 with instruction from this book. It has some good advice on hidden features and stuff like that, if you are in the mood to tweak it a little bit more.This is an excellent guide to the new Windows, it simply has everything you need and it will save you a lot of time and nerves, believe me.

I bought this book after reading several posts online on how to do particular functions and features. I got tired of constantly googling and asking my friends on how troublesome the new OS is. But after I got this book, I feel very confident to use my laptop. I find that this Windows 10 book is very accurate. I would use this more as a manual for Windows 10. Would recommend this book to all who aren't familiar with Windows 10.

Of all the sub-$3 books here on Windows 10 I think this is by far the best and most comprehensive, if you can get past the typos and grammar issues (at least in the kindle version). Many of the other books just touch on the Start Menu, Cortana, how to install, and one or two other topics. This one goes into less obvious features and settings, such as how to bring back the home page in Edge, using One Note, custom display scaling, One Drive Fetch, and WiFi Sense features that others don't touch on. Well worth the money, unlike many of the bargain primers out there.

An extremely well structured guide for Windows 10. Walks you through everything so you don't have do to it alone. When you start using it, you will get the feeling that it isn't the first time, and that will be all thanks to this awesome guide. I strongly recommend it to beginners.

Very disappointing. I was hoping for a book that would provide detail of all features in Win 10 and how to access them. This did not do it. Worse yet, there were some 40 pages 37% of the book)devoted to Operator C C ++ which is of no use to me. I returned the book today.

I was looking for a book that would provide a mouse click by click path from point A to point B on how to use the features in Win 10. I've used computers for years, but am no "geek". This simply was not what I was looking for.

This book has helped me very much and I have learned a lot from it. It has made it easier for me to work on computers. It is well written.

So the book arrived very quickly however, the description did not say that the book was an unedited advance copy. I thought I was ordering a finished book, you know, like I've seen in the bookstore.

Poor translation and abysmal eclectic view of Japanese culture - and if not, please, ive no interest in visiting. Canâ€™t believe the shallow expose of philosophy, sexual attributes (and am no prude)...whomever wrote rosy reviews on this is merely pandering to Japanese sophomoric philandering. Even the philosophical rants, while lucid, have all been heard before in countless other coverage. Perhaps the translation is part of the problem - either way, complete bore.

Ostensibly, this novel begins with a young man who is seeking a woman he has known who apparently had entered the strange world of a cult, which he then joins in an attempt to find her. As he progresses in his quest, the reader is exposed to a variety of topics, ranging from sex and violence to religion, astrophysics and neuroscience.This gives the author the opportunity to write about all kinds of subjects, with long discourses ranging from good and evil to Japanese politics, from war criminals to peace. Perhaps inspired by the 1995 sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway, the novel is an examination of what attraction extremism has to most people.The reader has to plow through more than 500 pages of this material, struggling to grasp all the meanings and context in what starts out as a simple love story. And the task is hardly easy. It takes a lot of effort and for that reason it is rated lower than one would expect a book written by this author, whose past works received [deservedly] higher ratngs. Nevertheless, Nakamura pushes us to the limits in his writings, which have made him one of the top Japanese authors. For this reason, for those willing to stick with it, Cult X is recommended

Noir hardly does this gritty, dark, provocative novel justice.Nakamura peels back the Japanâ€™s faÃ§ade, the gentile, hard-working, striving, respectful society, and instead, introduces us to world of fringe religious cults. Matsuo leads the almost accidental group, an intellectual, peaceful assembly whose devotees listen to his far-ranging sermons. Lectures, really, covering black matter, philosophy, DNA, the collective unconscious, etc. The splinter group, Cult X, is led by the apostate Sawatari , who presides over Monday orgies that include rape.The seminal issue is that both groups brainwash their believers. Both groups are successful, but to what respective end?Cult X is at the center of a massive terror attack on home soil. The purpose of this attack is to support a conservative, war-like political administration. Shadowy government agents and over zealous police wait in the wings to enable or thwart the attacks.Easily lost in this epic is a love story. Narazaki searches for his enigmatic girlfriend, Ryoko, and it is this search that leads him through the labyrinth of these cults.Think of Fuminori Nakamura as his generationâ€™s Yukio Mishima. Mishima, who came of age during World War II, never adjusted to Japanâ€™s non-militaristic stance during the years following the war. Nakamura, while not advocating for the samurai spirit that Mishima put forward, offers intriguing arguments that question Japanâ€™s role in the age of terror.

Reminiscent of Pyncheon's _Gravity's Rainbow_ as well as Yukio Mishima, this ambitious novel tries to make you think by making you feel: disgust, despair, lust, wonder, hope, love and nihilism are all presented as ways of interfacing with, and maybe understanding, the chaos of physical reality. It's carefully structured, too, pitting a kind and honest (but not too perfect) cult leader against another who is cruel and manipulative. Beneath the feverish and sometimes off-putting plot there's a passionate message about what it does and doesn't mean to be Japanese, to be human, and to be alive.All that was pretty interesting. But I found it hard to take the author's blinkered gender perspective. I haven't read a book in a long time that was so firmly rooted in its belief that men get to penetrate and pontificate, while women get to be penetrated and listen, possibly at the same time. His female characters have agency and everything, but all they want is to save men, get laid by men, sacrifice themselves to/for men . . . Even if his evil character hadn't had the power to magically make women like being raped, I would have found this depressing. And since his good character likes playfully sexually harassing people, I have to think the author is making some conscious argument here.Still . . . it was a thought provoking book. I may have been infuriated, even revolted, but there was plenty to chew on. I'm not sorry to have read it. I'm struggling to think who I'd recommend it to--certainly not my mother, my daughter, or anyone's impressionable young son--but there were definitely things I liked about it. Read at your own discretion.

But it's dull, dry and boring. I guess those words mean the same thing, but they can't be overused when talking about this book.I have Milford's biography of Zelda Fitzgerald, and it's my favorite of the Zelda biographies I have read. It's evocative and lyrical. I've reread it several times through the years.What happened? I have no idea if Millay had an interesting life or was even an interesting person. I knew little about her before this book and I feel I know even less now, because I just can't plow through this tedious biography.

It was a very interesting account of Ms. Millay's life. I was familiar with her poetry, but not with her story. I wish the author had gone on a bit further to detail how her friends and the public were made aware of her death and what sort of funeral arrangements were had for her. Since the author was speaking to her sister about Edna St. Vincent, she would have had access to the information. I suppose it would not have made for the "dramatic" close to the book though if she had included it. The editing could have been better, there were many errors in it.Ms. Millay seems to have lived at both extremes - extreme poverty and wealth. A talented trend setter, she supported herself, her mother and sisters ( to an extent) and her husband who had been wealthy when she married him. It seems people were always awestruck when they met her, which aided in her somewhat wild lifestyle. She seems to have gotten most everything she wanted to achieve but in the end, came to ruin due to various addictions.

Nancy Milford, author of Zelda, biography of the wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald, impressed me with her research, insights, and ability to invoke the life, both public and private, of the new, liberated woman, "flapper" extraordinaire. Having read Zelda many years ago but still remembering Milford's fine treatment of so difficult a subject, I decided she might measure up to the task of fairly representing the intriguing poet who also burned the candle at both ends. No surprise! Another wonderful, full-of-facts-and-insights biography. What a complicated genius Milay was! I especially learned the sources of her inspirations and became reacquainted with her work. I have yet to finish this book: I find I enjoy reading it the way I read poetry-- a little at a time, like a rich dessert.

First up: Like all Kindle products, the download is perfect and accesses and reads easily. You can use the search function if you want to find specific passages, such as where it alludes to Vincent's meeting with Georgia O'Keeffe, for instance. I recommend Kindle.As for this book: It's delightful. Vincent was a complex genius and a pure hellion and a wildcat who just plain burned herself out, twenty years too soon. Using her own letters and journals and diaries and the letters and first-hand reports of others, it paints a vivid and complete image of her and shows her sometimes bizarre journey thru life.You get the feeling that if you met this sweet-looking 5' 1" tigress, you'd either instantly fall in love with her or be scared to death of her. Or both. Her genius flows from her, altho you are also introduced to some of her troubles and failures. At her peak, her grit and determination were phenomenal.If I come into a time machine, a place and time I'll visit is some of her readings and presentations, as they must have been amazing. The author takes us to these, vividly, both out front and behind the scene.The book is also richly peppered with her works, and you see in many cases where inside of her they came from. Some of her works are profound and tragic, and some are funnier than the best of Ogden Nash. You definitely come away feeling as if you've gotten to know her.If you're the least bit curious about her, this is the bio for you!

This book was overly long, yet so much was left out. There are too many excerpts of letters or journals, some of which were interesting but much was irrelevant or repetitive. Milford didnâ€™t keep the story moving. It got quite bogged down in the beginning especially and went on and on without saying much. The Millay women were fascinating, creative free spirits and the three sisters were devoted to their mother and each other in their younger years. This was definitely worth exploring. But where did they come apart? Milford never answers many questions. What ultimately happened to their father and so many others of significance in Ednaâ€™s life? I had to go on Wikipedia to find out more. Also, Milford describes many photos of Edna. Why not include some in the book? This biography is obviously well researched but not well-organized and I found it frustrating to read, although it got more interesting as it went on. Iâ€™m sure there are better ones on Millay. I almost feel like I have to read another to fill in the missing pieces.

This biography of Edna St. Vincent Millay is as fascinating and provocative as the life Millay lived. Thoroughly researched, with numerous citations from Millay's own letters and from the writings of the many men (and women) who loved her, this book gives a detailed look at one of the 20th century's most important literary figures, and the times in which she lived. The book is quite long but was riveting to the end.

This was really useful on our trip. A lot of the information can be found online, but where this excels is by breaking out the cities by areas. I often find myself planning trip activities only to realize I'll waste half my day on traveling through town because the things I picked out where on opposite sides of town. This gives you idea of things that are in close vicinity to each other so you can make sure you hit the most things on your trip.

Honestly, I thought I would get more detailed information but instead they give you a paragraph or two on a city with web links to the businesses they are promoting. I can find that stuff on my own. I bought it so I could read it as we sailed (without internet) to New Zealand. Didnâ€™t expect to need internet to get information from a book on travel.And, if you actually go to the web and look on your own you will find a whole lot more information, places to stay, things to do, restaurants etc... Obviously Fodors is only recommending places that have paid to advertise in them. When I buy a book on travel Iâ€™m expecting to get more information than that which has been paid to be presented.Honestly I always like and trusted Fodors until the last couple of travel guides Iâ€™ve purchased. This will be my last purchase. Sorry for the bad review but I wasnâ€™t paying for paid advertising and web links.

Up to date, generally comprehensive. Would include availability of trams and guided tram tours (that are very limited, have a fee, and some require prior reservations) in several botanical gardens. With limited time, this provides a much broader view of these spectacular places. Note: this book is heavy; you may want to tear as you go.

I am disappointed with the flow of the book. It is very hard to follow. It is impossible to jump to a region then to find a city or a town that you are looking for.

Great reference book which I downloaded on my Kindle before traveling to New Zealand.

Very helpful but would really appreciate approximate driving TIMEs in countries with back roads/no freeways like New Zealand

If you were to read one book this one is the best. If you were to read several, this book should be the first.I wonder some at the sub-title of â€œA Rediscovery.â€ How is he rediscovering what I have already learned from other sources? But then I suspect he may be assessing the reality that what he presents may not be that widely known within Quakerism. The silence and the liberal mores of this branch of the Society of Friends of the Truth allows a freedom that defies confident descriptions of what is going on in a Meeting for Worship.Amblerâ€™s strategy is to avoid discussing our history, our organization, our dress, our internal quarrels and the major personalities in favor of focusing on the spiritual life of the Quaker, starting with the core, â€œWhat is the Quaker doing while sitting in silence?â€ Then spilling out from that point to the resulting attitudes and practices of the Quaker.The core is seeking the truth by looking inward, first seeing the dirt, scum and evasions we hide from ourselves, and then the perfect image we hide behind, and then the truth of our being, and then the workings of the spirit and the growth of new being within us, a God-derived reality. (Here I am attempting to remain true to his perspective some of which is not mine while compressing more than a chapter of his thought into a paragraph. Forgive me any slippage from his intent.)This search for the truth inside leads then to attitudes and actions. When meeting for work or decisions, we meet in such a manner as to care for the measure of truth held by each person in attendance. When in contact with other religions we recognize that they too deserve respect not only for their sincerity in seeking the truth but for the undoubted reality that they too hold a measure of the truth that may have been hidden from us. When invited to partake in war, we refuse. From our insight into ourselves we recognize the truth that there is â€œthat of God in allâ€ and it is not given to us to harm or kill other vessels of the divine. And so on. All stemming from the practice of silent sitting and observing our inner self.Of course, this leaves out much about Quakerism, but this focus on the center provides in one small book (159 pages-8.5 by 5) the essence of the silent Quakerâ€™s spiritual, and for that matter, life journey. If that is what you bought it for, you will be well rewarded.Three notes: Ambler does offer descriptions of the internal growth of the Quaker based on present day psychological theory. They are useful but of course the Seventeenth Century Quaker did not think about spiritual progress in those terms. They might say, â€œGive up your own willing,â€ and Ambler will describe what that means in our terms. In some ways the brutal slap of the founders is more effective that the modern unpeeling of the spiritual onion. But both do not hurt as long as one remembers which is which.Ambler also has a tendency to stray from the absolute dependency of the Quaker â€œgiving upâ€ to a slightly less giving in the giving up. For instance in the paragraph describing the core above he would have us â€œlooking inwardâ€ which might imply a self-directed search where the founders would simply observe the inward light, which chooses what it chooses, as it selected for their attention what it would.Ambler describes The Society of Friends as one among many religions. The founders did not feel that way, nor do I. They were confident that they were one of a kind, and the right kind at that. I am a little gentler, feeling that Quakerism has grasped the truth to be found only in the silence, a rare occurrence in dualistic spirituality. That great truth can be grasped in many of the eastern religions but to join them seriously it is necessary to give up on the dualistic genius, that is: fixing the world. I too think we are singular. Not the sole possessors of truth, but with a unique perspective and a rare possessor of this measure of the truth.Donâ€™t let these caveats stand between you and buying the book. If you are ready for it now, there is much to be gained, and I know no better place to gain it.

A thoughtful introduction to Quaker practice, Ambler draws on his knowledge of early Quakers to give context to why modern Quakers do what they do. Iâ€™ve only just started going to an unprogrammed local meeting and I find I get a lot more out of it after reading The Quaker Way. Amblerâ€™s writing could be tighter, but itâ€™s readable and mostly clear.

One of the best discussions of the Quaker Way rooted in the history of the Society of Friends. Many topics are covered rationally from a spiritual depth rather than an intellectual approach. Worship and discernment are coverage in depth and with modern Brirish Quakers in mind. This book is relevant for "unprogrammed" Friends in North America.

A little tedious I was looking for a little more inspiration.

The author does a great job explaining in words what is experienced in Quaker worship and way of living.

The best part of this book was the quotations from George Fox, William Penn, and other early Quakers. I might have been better served to have skipped this volume and read the originals. That said, it was a quick and easy read that shed light on the views of at least one contemporary Quaker.

An excellent review for and about Quakers. Very useful to understand the complexity of Quakerism, which looks so simple. But it seems repetitious/redundant in places. Could be a shorter book. Easy reading, good overview of what Quakerism is all about. I highly recommend it.

Rex Ambler draws on his teaching experience as a theology professor and practicing Quaker to immerse the inquiring reader in a spiritual adventure unlike any other. Intellectually satisfying and heartfelt story telling. The God Experience promised to all sincere seekers.

About the Author

Kathryn Scheldt is an authentic voice from the Alabama Gulf coast and an expert songwriter. Her fifth and latest CD , One Good Reason, will be released this fall by Lamon Records of Nashville. D., MT-BC, is the Director of Music Therapy at Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a Board Certified Music Therapist, Frances has worked with individuals of varying ages and functioning levels, ranging from young children with special needs to the elderly. She has written articles, served as a consultant and has presented workshops on music therapy throughout the Southeast and in Taiwan. Throughout the course of her Music Therapy career, she has won Outstanding Teaching Awards from Queens College and an award for Outstanding Achievements in Professional Practice from the Southeastern Chapter of the National Association for Music Therapy, which is now the American Music Therapy Association. Her education includes B.M. degrees in Music Education and Music Therapy from Michigan State University, a M.M. in Music Therapy from Michigan State University, a M. Ed. in special Education from Winthrop University and a Ph.D in Psychoeducational Processes and Music Therapy from Temple University. This was not what I expected. It is mostly Children's songs that can be found anywhere. It might be music therapy for kids to move to, but that's all.It might be useful for a total novice to use to learn guitar. I was looking for help in developing a therapeutic repertoire. This was not it.

I purchased this book for my Guitar for Music Therapy class. I was thrilled to see how each song had activity suggestions and the possible therapeutic goals that can be achieved through the activity.

I purchased this book as required for an Intro to Music Therapy class. The book is good in several respects:It has a wide range of songs that are familiar to most every English-speaking beginning musician.The songs are progressively more advanced, going from two chords to a wider range of chords.The guitar chord fingerings are included, allowing for easy mastery of these basic chords.There are a wide range of suggested strumming patterns, alternate texts/verses, and other variations to keep things fresh and fun.The book is set up in "fake-book" format, with the melody written out in treble staff, and only the chords provided for the accompaniment.I would have liked to see basic instruction on the piano in here as well. That would have been a very simple addition, and would have provided for more use. I use this book to work out my basic, but developing transposing skills. Play each song in all keys, transposing both melody and chords. It's a very useful exercise. Also, there are great songs in here you will not easily find in other books.

This is a good learning source for music therapy students in particular. The lessons are clear and the sequence of chords are well chosen to make it a good learning tool. There are excellent examples of therapeutic ways to use the songs such as lyric substitution ideas. Songs are organized to give beginning students ideas about what to consider when choosing a song for a therapeutic purpose. It would be improved by having more up to date repertoire and some different guitar strum rhythms, but on the whole, an excellent choice for music therapy students learning to play guitar and sing.

This is the best book ever written. It rivals the Bible for spiritual renewal.

What a cool cookbook. For all of us who can't get enough of Star Wars, Game of Thrones and MY FAVORITE, Lord of the Rings, this is the perfect gift or to inspire us to get off the couch (or tear ourselves away from the game console) and actually cook something yummy and fun. Replete with fabulous party ideas and treats, this is a true delight filled with delicious treats. Brilliant!

I wanted to love this, but it was disappointing. If you are a geek who owns no cake books at all, this might be the book for you (hence three stars), but not worth adding to your cake book collection. The illustrations are pretty but several of the illustrated items (Daleks) are not described. Iâ€™m glad I only paid the Kindle price.

I knew this was going to be a good book just because it had Cthulhu on it. BUT it even has VEGAN recipes! the steps are written very well. You will be able to make game night sweets easily! A great gift for a fellow nerd!

I purchased this for the Dr. Who recipe, but was really disappointed by the offering. Some of the other recipes/directions are alright which is why I went ahead and gave it 4 stars. If it was only for the one I purchased this for it would have been 1 star. So If you are a Whovian, skip this one and find something else.

This is the prettiest dang cook book I've ever seen. Photographed beautifully with easy to read instructions and all the party ideas you need to be be the most popular dungeon master at your D&D pot-luck. Plus fun Star Trek jokes! A+ would nerd bake again.

About the Author

JAMES FALLOWS has been a national correspondent for The Atlantic for more than thirty-five years, reporting from China, Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe, and across the United States. He is the author of eleven previous books. His work has also appeared in many other magazines and as public-radio commentaries since the 1980s. He has won a National Book Award and a National Magazine Award. James and Deborah Fallows are journalists, and it's no surprise that Our Towns reads a lot like long form magazine journalism. They took off in their single engine plane and dropped into a couple dozen towns over the course of a few years, to see what "flyover" America is up to. They approached getting to know the towns in what seemed to me like a pretty effective way -- they combined doing things they normally do (find a public pool to do laps, go to the public library, visit a brewpub, walk around town -- with some journalistic activities such as interviewing the mayor, visiting the community college, finding the town "patriot." It's an easy book to read in small chunks, and the overall impression is that America is doing okay at the local level, regardless of the bitter divisions in Washington. Not okay in the sense that everything is rosy, no problems to see here, but okay in the sense that people are tackling their local problems and finding original and effective ways to deal with them. One thing that stands out is that in many of these small towns, immigrants are as much a part of the solution as they are a challenge. A surprisingly optimistic and very American group of stories.

One word: Boring boring boring boring. The least interesting book I've ever read. Whoever said it was like a Christmas letter that never ends, agreed 100% I tried, sincerely I did, but the repetition just would not end, dissecting small towns as if they were entomologists examining ant hills. Self-absorbed authors and somnambulent prose, I had to quit at the 1/3 mark. Any more and I felt I was wasting my life. I kept hoping it would get interesting. It didn't. Don't buy this book; run from it. They got a lot of radio time on the book tour, must have a great agent. A once-great agent. With all the favors he called in to promote this dog, he's certain to have none left. And to top it all off, flying place to place in an aircraft with one of the worst accident records in the history of aviation. And now 100% owned by China. Wok that dog.

This was my kind of book I thoroughly enjoyed Our Town â€“ A 100,000 miles Journey into the Heart of America by James and Deborah Fallows. They covered all those miles with James flying in a small plane which I also enjoy as my husband also was a pilot of a small plane. James plane was high tech and this way they could cover more places plus I enjoyed Deborahâ€™s description of all the different land and scenery they flew over. They wrote this book over several years of covering thirty different communities and some they had visited twice.What made this book so real was they picked communities of all different sizes with many going through upgrade. This meant in many places upgrading the downtown areas that had gone into disrepair because of large malls being built in the suburbs. It was fascinating to me to read about how they organized their communities to work together to bring back business and people. So many of these towns I was very familiar with and lived in many just like the ones in this book.The Fallows were excellent writers and sometimes I could not tell who was doing the writing, it blended in so well. I did figure out then James loved to swim and seemed to find a place to swim in every community while Deborah loved the libraries and her describing them in every community. From the East where they lived in Washington D.C. to the West coast where James grew up as a child they covered every state in between. Amazing to read about how each town worked together to make their community a thriving and interesting place to live.I did enjoy the California small towns as all we usually hear about are the mega places along the west coast. All the action is along the coast but these communities have made a success and a great place to live. I am from middle America so have lived in these communities and through the years as times change these communities have to change as well to be successful. The Fallows in their writing found something positive about each place which makes one proud that you live in America because of people who are free to develop themselves and their towns.I loved the print size of this book but found something troubling as something was not right. I took a while until I figured out that in the type the letter â€œtâ€ was small about the same size as an â€œrâ€ so in reading they ran together. All the other tall letters where fine. It was a great book.

You can look up at the night sky and get a good picture of what all those suns looked like millions and millions of years ago. If you visited a city 10, 20 or 30 years ago, your impression of the place might be equally dated. James and Deborah Fallows undertook a "100,000+' mile journey around America for three or four years examining where there might be some positive directions in places that had been hit hard by economic tidal waves, shifting demographics and/or other phenomena that were beyond their control. Despite massive dysfunction in national politics, they have found considerable evidence of growth and optimism, laced with hard work.Some common denominators were a realistic assessment of what went wrong; the energy and creativity in educational institutions, appreciation of quality of life factors, the welcoming and contribution of new immigrants; the focus on getting a few things right with a new direction and majority community participation.Frankly, the book often becomes tedious. The picture of many community leaders is often two dimensional. One can only appreciate so many references to swimming pools and elementary schools. Their affection for small airports and brew pubs may or may not resonate. But the patient. disciplined and contrasting window on places that don't get a lot of positive press coverage is worthwhile. In my prior life, I spent weeks in random places (wherever my company was involved in serious litigation). I nearly always came away with a respect, and sometimes an affection, for places I would rarely have sought out on my own. It's good to know there is still a lot of constructive energy in many small cities and towns in Middle America.
