About the Author
William H. Brown is emeritus professor of chemistry at Beloit College, where he was twice named Teacher of the Year. His teaching responsibilities include organic chemistry, advanced organic chemistry, and, more recently, special topics in pharmacology and drug synthesis. He received his Ph.D. from Columbia University under the direction of Gilbert Stork and did postdoctoral work at California Institute of Technology and the University of Arizona.

Unfortunately Organic chem is a subject you just have to drown yourself in to get by. That said, this book is generally unhelpful. There are numerous questions where the answers differ from the typical, because of constraints only explained in the answer. The companion solution manual is a pain in the ass to work with too.
About as great as an organic chemistry book can get. Great condition!

Total Ripoff Has multiple questions that are not answered in the book. THOSE answers are located in the "study guide" which is purchased separately. As a parent paying full feight and this is a required text, this is unnecessary gouging. Fortunately we can afford it, but if my child were as poor as I was when I took it 30 yrs ago, it would have been a budget breaker.
